PLAYTIME AND RECREATION TO SHARE KNOWLEDGE (“COMPARTIR SABERES”)
03 March 2010
Under the coordination of Cerrejón’s Social Management Division, and as part of the CAS program (Creativity, Action and Service) of the Colegio Albania, Cerrejón, the pilot program Sharing Knowledge (“Compartir de Saberes”) will start next Saturday March 6.
During twelve consecutive Saturdays, ninth-, tenth, and eleventh-graders of Colegio Albania will conduct tutorships in mathematics, and reading comprehension for fifth-graders of Aula Almirante Padilla from the Indigenous Reservation Cuatro de Noviembre. Every fourth weekend, children from Coalba will visit the Indigenous Reservation to learn the uses and customs of the Wayuu ethnics.
The students of Aula Almirante Padilla will be picked up, together with the teacher María Bernarda Moya and three parents, to transport them to Colegio Albania, where they will take their classes.
As part of the CAS program Coalba students will have to document the tutorial process and will deliver a report that will help this project to be replicated in other ethnical-education centers of La Guajira.
