Opening of the new Recreation Centre in Albania.

In November, the new Recreation Centre in the town of Albania was inaugurated by the Council of Special Projects of the Presidency of the Republic, the Children’s Day Corporation , the Mayorship of Albania, and Cerrejón, the last mentioned entity is supporting the Centre with a contribution of over one hundred and forty million pesos.

Cerrejón Foundation for Water in La Guajira in Science and Technology Week

The Cerrejón Foundation for Water in La Guajira participated in the II Science, Technology and Innovation Week, an initiative undertaken jointly by the Government of La Guajira, Colciencias, and the University of La Guajira. The central theme for this year was “Water and Sustainable Development: Progress for La Guajira”.

For a healthy Guajira, free from HIV/AIDS

Carbones del Cerrejón continues to contribute to the construction of a healthy Guajira, and, towards this end, with the support of the Departmental Secretary for Health and the Foundation François Xavier Bagnoud Colombia, is leading the formation process in the prevention of HIV/AIDS in the community of La Guajira.

Cerrejón links itself to the Birthplace of the Accordion Festival

With a view to promoting the development of cultural and folkloric expression in La Guajira, Cerrejón, through the Department of Social Responsibility and the Communications Division, donated 5 accordions, 5 drums and 5 “guacharacas” to the Birthplace of the Accordion Festival in Villanueva.
