The Paici was created in 1982 and is dedicated to the improvement of the quality of life of the Wayúu, offering solutions to their basic needs through the development of workshops in community organization, traditional agricultural activities, craft promotion, techniques for the raising of goats and alternatives for the supply of water. An experimental farm located in the Ishirrwo village was established, endowed with a management room, a community kiosk and terrains destined to goat cattle and the production of traditional products.
The natives receive technical assistance for the cultivation of foliage, garden vegetables, watermelon, pumpkins, melon, beans, corn and sorghum. The farm has a program for the improvement of goat raising, the base of family economy of the Wayúu community.
