Both in terms of its operations as well as in its commercial relations with suppliers and contractors, Cerrejón considers essential to comply with national and international legislation in child labour issues, forced labour, health and safety in the workplace, liberty of association and the right to collective negotiations, non-discrimination, disciplinary measures, work schedules and remuneration. All of Cerrejón’s actions must always respond to the highest international ethical standards.
Therefore Cerrejón is committed to continuous improvement in the application of this policy and in generating factors that promote the social and economic progress of its labour force.
These guidelines form Cerrejón’s Policy in terms of Social Responsibility with its workers; they are applied through a management system that includes the effort of the Company to commit its suppliers and contractors in the compliance of these requirements within their own organizations and operations.”
