Cerrejón, in compliance with its Social Responsibility Policy, has always cared that its operations are carried out in a sustainable manner. In view of this, Cerrejón has its Human Rights Policy and Program that ensure its operations in such a manner that Human rights of employees, contractors, third parties involved in its operations, its customers and the public in general are protected, respected and promoted.
The ethic imperative is imposed as a safeguard of a civic behaviour; also it is acknowledged that respect for Human Rights does contribute to the competitiveness of Cerrejón.
Within the framework of this effort, Cerrejón has also committed itself to compliance with the ten principles of the United Nation’s Global Compact, related with Human Rights, Labour Conditions, the Environment and Transparency.
